Just a lovely little place with exceptional snackies. I'm obsessed with their scones. So moist and they'll warm them up if you ask. A large matcha latte with alternative milk options and quite a few syrups to accompany. But the best part? Their cold case filled with the most delicious and delicate tarts, sponge cakes and cheesecakes. There's another bakery in town but honestly when it comes to flavor, upper crust is my favorite, *chef's kiss*

Upper Crust Baking is off G Street next to the Davis Food Co-Op in the old Radio Shack space. The owner Lorin and staff are very nice and helpful. Their bakery items are delicious. They have a nice selection of wine, coffees and specialty drinks. Every Wednesday they have “Pizza Night” between 4:30pm-7pm. They have delicious pizzas and offer a seasonal speciality pizza. They offer a Sarmentine Baguette that is a rare find. Prices overall is not the cheapest, but you can taste the quality of the ingredients, so you get what you pay for. They have a sister store in Winters, CA that offers other items such as doughnuts. They have some indoor and outdoor seating, so you can enjoy their offerings onsite or take them to go. Check them out for some delicious and quality bakery/pastry items.

I ordered the large fresh fruit tart and chocolate raspberry layered cake for my daughter's 21st birthday. She reported that the chocolate cake was scrumptious and the tart was beautiful. Communication with staff and the ordering process was fluid and easy. Thank you for helping me celebrate a special day from afar, including writing the bday message on the top of the cake; very grateful!

Wow! I am jealous that there is such a wonderful bakery/cafe in Davis!! The assortment of breads and pastries will suit different needs! David was super friendly, patient, helpful and kind!! I really appreciate that he gave me time to look at the vast amount of goodies without rushing me. When there r so many choices, time is a necessity to decide.🤪 There is indoor and outdoor seating with lightly timed mist that is sprayed from the canopy. There is free parking in the lot as well as street parking. It is a very clean and relaxing place to stop and enjoy time with friends or on your own.

I really didn't expect much when I requested to add fruit to my cheesecake order, maybe a few strawberries cut up and placed on top. What the team here at Upper Crust Baking did for this birthday astonished me and my significant other with how everything was presented. Even the person who rung me up was amazed with what was decorated on the cheesecake. Whomever decorated this deserves high praise, this can't be overstated. And of course the cheesecake was delicious.

’ve never been to this area on G street. But such a nice summer day to sit outside, enjoy our wine, pizza, and pastries! The owner got to talk about the history of this bakery and how he took it over from his parents that had a very New York Jewish style but also now with a lot of French influence. The dough on the pizza and pastries were so good! Mixed with the wine and everything. On Wednesdays they have pizza. This spot is the perfect spot to chill and grab a nice coffee and pastry in the morning after a run and just sit in their European style seating outside and watching people go by. Parking is easy since there’s a parking lot. The workers were so friendly too. Got to also try their cold brew too!

All the staff were so kind and made the cutest custom birthday cake for us! We LOVE how it turned out and they were so accommodating with our special requests and timeline! 10/10 would recommend!

We love Upper Crust! Whenever family comes to town or we pass through Davis, it’s on the list of places to stop. Delicious and beautiful bakery items. Service is always friendly and super patient as we make the difficult decision of what to get (it’s so hard to choose). Definitely recommend a scone or two; savory and sweet, the kouign amann, a fruit tart, quiche, muffin and anything else you see. My favorite is the apricot rugelach. Go with a group so you can get one of everything and then cut up and share! Then take home a baguette and the rosemary bread.

The best pizza in Davis is Wednesday nights at Upper Crust Bakery. My favorite is Fungus Amongus - button, shiitake, maitake mushrooms with a Calabrian chile base. Family loves the Classic Veggie and Margarita also. Coming from a bakery, you know the crust is perfect, nice and thin and made from the best flour. The cheese and ingredients are super fresh as pizza is only baked in their ovens on Wednesday nights. We order ahead for weekly pizza night. Service is friendly and welcoming. We also like the jalapeno cheese bread, but it is the pizza that is a fixture on our Wednesday dinner table.

We had the salad, flatbread, espresso with three tarts and Malbec. The salad was crisp, fresh and zesty with citrus. The flatbread was warm and tender with a perfectly crisp bottom. The peas and asparagus on top made for a springy and delicious bite. We savored each bite of those tarts with a sip of espresso in between. You can’t beat the attentive and friendly staff, and the patio area was relaxing and the perfect environment for a fun date night. We can’t wait to do it again!
